Recently I've seen just a single window made into a pin cushion, an ornament, sewn by machine and hand, and lots of pillows. I've scoured the internet to find several different tutorials for us to try (remember, I'm doing these challenges at the same time you are).
Moda Bakeshop - really cute pillows
Sew Happy to sew - hand finished top stitching
House of Al a Mode - machine finished top stitching
Angies Bits & Pieces - includes a chart for different size blocks
If you've done a cathedral windows tutorial post send me an email and I'll add it to this list!
Ok - its time to bit the bullet and try this block out. You can start small with a pincushion or pillow or be bold and go for something larger (I will bow down to you if you do a twin size or larger!!). At the end of the month we'll link up with what we've accomplished. Good luck!

I love the look of cathedral windows! I'll have to go small, but I'm in. I also posted about the blocks I made for last month from this challenge. I didn't make them into a quilt, but they will be incorporated into a quilt later.
ReplyDeleteOh YAY! I love these blocks. I really do. I shall find another reason to make some.
ReplyDeleteOhh, I might have to join you on this challenge! But I already have two things I have to complete in February ... argghhh.
ReplyDeleteCool challenge. I made one of those pincushions for my mum for Christmas, it was surprisingly easier than I expected!
ReplyDeleteFabulous idea! Hmmm may have to search for a small project to try!
ReplyDeleteinspiring -good for you for trying these unique blocks!
ReplyDeleteI really, really want to do this! Cathedral windows are on my to do list, but I'll definitely be going small. Great idea :)
ReplyDeleteAnother great challenge, Candi! This is on my to-do list and I may have to bump it up! I don't think I can tackle the queen size quilt I have in mind, but I do have a pattern for an apron that uses the Cathdral Windows block.
ReplyDeleteI'm in! I've been quilting over 20 years and have never been able to make a cathedral window. I'll give it one more shot!
